SmadAV is a small antivirus utility from overseas which includes a small set of malware signatures, searching your PC for unwanted programs.
Although SmadAV isn't necessarily the most comprehensive antivirus utility available, it does search for some common pests which have have been installed on a target system.
The user interface of the utility is neatly laid out. The left-hand navigation menu provides access to the main scanner function (and its options), some access to the paid version's features and general settings for scanning functions.

Scanning modes
Inside the main panel is a tabbed interface which displays the scan progress, reports, virus hits and registry entries.
The overall scan process of SmadAV is fast and checks through files on local or external disks and reports with a list of infected files and entries; once the scan is completed, you can use SmadAV to delete or quarantine these files.
General settings include limiting scans to USB scanning ('Quick mode'), access to scans from the Windows context menus inside of Windows Explorer, advanced features available in the Pro version and switching between Indonesian and English language. Scanner settings include changing SmadAV's color scheme and a list of quarantined files SmadAV has de-activated.
Pro version
Though the Pro version includes a number of features such as automatic updates, support for destroying ransomware and live protection, the free version of SmadAV does an admirable job of eliminating certain types of common viruses.
All in all, SmadAV can be used as a second defense against viruses and malware but isn't exactly complete enough to provide full protection.
