The Clean Air Act, referred to in subsec. (b), is act July 14, 1955, ch. 322, as amended, which is classified generally to chapter 85 (§ 7401 et seq.) of Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare. For complete classification of this Act to the Code, see Short Title note set out under section 7401 of Title 42 and Tables. Nevada has three sets of requirements for proof of identity. Those who cannot meet the requirements for a Real ID or standard license may apply for a Driver Authorization Card (DAC), which is not valid for identification.

The state of Nevada, like every state in the nation, maintains a huge amount of legislation covering hundreds of topics. The sections covering motor vehicles are known casually as the vehicle code, and they cover all aspects of vehicle regulations, including rules of the road, administrative processes, and fee schedules.
The vehicle code can be found online, word for word, in two main documents:

- The Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS), which contains the regulations and laws for the state.
AND - The Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), which contains the administrative procedures for all state departments, including the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.
Action Act Nevada Egoist Drivers Ed
The NRS even offers a text search feature, where you can type in any keyword and find statutes relating to that term. This can come in handy when you're searching for a specific law or regulation.
The Nevada DMV has prepared an information page where it has broken down the sections of the vehicle code for your convenience. Many sections contain clickable links to both the NRS and the NAC.
Whatever your reason for searching the Nevada vehicle code, you're likely to find the exact legal language pertaining to your specific situation. For example, if you've received a traffic ticket for violating one of the laws in the Nevada vehicle code, you should be able to determine whether or not you'd be able to fight the ticket.
While the Nevada vehicle code is a great place to turn for information, you may want to contact the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles with specific questions, or contact a lawyer for legal advice and assistance.
Topics Covered in the Nevada Vehicle Code
Nevada is serious about safe driving and smooth-running administration by the Nevada DMV. Legislators are constantly writing new laws to clarify situations and increase drivers' protection on public highways. The following are some of the topics covered by the vehicle code:
- Driver's licenses: applications, testing, and fees.
- Licensing, registration, and sales of vehicles.
- Hazardous materials regulations.
- Traffic laws.
- Insurance requirements.
- Bikes, motorcycles, and other two-wheeled vehicles.
- Air pollution legislation.
- Administration of motor vehicle laws.
Rather than clicking on the categorized links, you can also see the entire chapter on motor vehicle regulations in both the NRS and the NAC websites.
For certain industries, the Nevada DMV has prepared summary documents of the latest legislative changes, such as for the vehicle industry and motor carriers.

Check Your NV Driver's License Status
Whenever you need or want to check the status of your driver's license, you can order a driving record report. This record will spell out if your driver's license is currently valid. Should your license have been revoked or suspended, the report will indicate that according to what's on record at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. This report will also show points against your driver's license and, in some cases, information on any accidents you have had.
